Polygamy in the heartland of the American West. Banking on Heaven is the inside story of the largest polygamous enclave in the United States, written, produced, and narrated by Laurie Allen, who escaped a similar polygamous sect.

Banking on Heaven reveals what happens behind closed doors in the FLDS, including the YFZ Ranch in Texas. Banking on Heaven reveals the corruption, the legislatures failure to help, the Mormon Church’s role, and the plight of innocent members of the FLDS polygamous sect.

Banking on Heaven is the deep story behind the headlines. While politicians brag about liberating the women and children of Afghanistan and Iraq, Banking on Heaven asks who is going to liberate the women and children of Colorado City, Arizona.

Warren Jeffs: Message From God For Trial Judge
By Ravelle Mohammed

Warren Jeffs, the polygamist leader charged with the sexual assault of a child, is back in court on Monday after demanding Texas District Judge Barbara Walther be removed from the case on “God’s demand.”

The San Angelo, Texas, courtroom took a one hour recess to review and reject the motion filed against Walther by Jeffs. He said God saw her as “a woman of evil intent” and should not oversee his case.

The leader of the controversial Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (FLDS) said he received the message, delivered by God on Sunday. According to the Associated Press Jeffs wrote, "I am to now recuse you from this case. Now sign order to recuse thyself; and allow this proceeding to stop...”

Jeffs is accused of the sexual assault of two young girls, a 15-year-old and a 12-year-old child bride. The charges also include aggravated sexual assault of a minor.

DNA lab technician at the University of North Texas Laboratory, Amy Smuts testified that there is a 99.99996 percent chance that the 55-year-old man fathered a child with his 15-year-old wife.

Judge Walther is the judge who approved the raid on Jeffs’ quarters, which ultimately led to his arrest and the charges filed against him. This is the third time the polygamist leader has tried to have Walther’s removed from the case.

Court hears him explain how he likes to be pleased sexually
He told his young wives they were 'honourable vessels' and journalised about how they were 'willing to obey'

A jaw-dropping audio tape played in Warren Jeffs' sexual assault trial Tuesday shows the church leader instructing his sister wives that they must 'work together' to please him sexually.

Mr Jeffs, the head of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, is accused of sexually assaulting two girls, ages 12 and 15, he took as brides in 'spiritual marriages.'

He objected as the tape was prepared, and his frustrations continued as it was played, the Salt Lake Tribune reported.

The 90-minute segment details how the young brides should become 'so natural as clothed as unclothed' and always shower before getting near him.
Mr Jeffs is also heard instructing the woman on how to maintain their pubic hair, and a woman is heard showing the other wives how to properly shave their armpits.

He says on the tape: 'No one sits around, everyone assists each other.'

This came after a doctor and forensic analyst testified the 55-year-old Jeffs was the father of a 15-year-old's child.

An excerpt from hundreds of pages of Mr Jeffs' personal journals said the child was 'pure and innocent and willing to obey' and he summoned her parents and 'informed them of their girl belonging to me.'

Prosecutors played the tape of Warren Jeffs talking to the girl when she was 14 after Texas Ranger Nick Hannah testified about documents and electronic files seized during a 2008 police raid at the church's remote compound in West Texas.

Among the documents seized was a record of Jeffs' spiritual marriage 'for time and all eternity' with the 14-year-old in January 2004.

The FLDS church believes polygamy brings exaltation in heaven.

Followers see Jeffs as a prophet who is God's spokesman on earth.

Hannah read from Mr Jeffs' journals, which said he took the 14-year-old the night after their wedding with him and another of his new wives on a car ride outside the church's headquarters along the Utah-Arizona border for 'training.'

There, he instructed them on their responsibilities as his wives and had the session taped. The recording was transcribed and placed in church records later seized by police.

Lead prosecutor Eric Nichols played the tape for jurors, who followed along using transcripts.

The recording was difficult to understand due to traffic noise, and the transcript wasn't made public.

'A good wife is trained for her husband and follows the spirit of peace,' Jeffs is heard saying.

He also makes reference to 'drawing close' or 'being close,' which is how church members refer to sex. Two female voices are heard saying 'OK.'

Hannah read excerpts of Mr Jeffs' journal where he described the Lord ordering him to visit Eldorado, Texas, about 45 miles south of San Angelo, and the church purchasing 1,700 acres of land outside the town for $1.2 million in 2003. He called the area 'Place of Refuge 17,' or R-17.

He told followers to plant cotton and raise animals and said they could build whatever they wanted thanks to Texas' lax zoning laws. Construction teams working around-the-clock erected dozens of buildings, including a sprawling, white-limestone temple.

You are picking on the peculiarities of a religious sect while turning a blind eye to the barbarisms of others only because Harry Reid, John Huntsman and Mit Romney are mormons... and you areusing an extremist as an example of what you pose to be the norm... I really enjoy watching these ideological contortions...

Colorado City still FLDS stronghold

Clandestine FLDS reasserts control in 2 remote communities

by Dennis Wagner - Jul. 31, 2011 12:00 AM

COLORADO CITY - Joseph Jessop, a patriarch of polygamy, grunts as his hoe uproots weeds from a tomato patch in the heart of this religious commune along the Arizona Strip.

The 89-year-old allows that much has changed in the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints since 2002, when authorities launched an enforcement campaign to stop child marriages and other crimes.

More than a dozen churchmen have been imprisoned for taking teenage brides, and their prophet, Warren Jeffs, is on trial in Texas on charges of bigamy and sexual assault of two underage children he allegedly married.

Most of the town's homes, businesses and properties, once held by a church-controlled trust, are now overseen by a court-appointed fiduciary.

A half-dozen local police officers were stripped of law-enforcement authority because they pledged allegiance to the church rather than to the law.

Public schools, once operated by an FLDS board, were taken over by the state.

Turmoil even reached inside the clandestine church: Jeffs at one point renounced himself as a prophet, then abruptly reassumed the mantle. Scores of former FLDS elders have been excommunicated, stripped of wives and banished from their homes.

Yet amid all the change, the twin towns of Colorado City, Ariz., and Hildale, Utah, remain a sanctuary for plural marriages, celebrated by the FLDS as a key to eternal salvation. Jeffs continues to issue edicts from behind bars. Women still wear ankle-length dresses in a place that seems frozen in the early 1900s.

Jessop grumbles about persecution as he cultivates the flower-fringed fields, removing weeds as if they are metaphors for evil.

"I'm still here, still gardening," the old-timer says. "They've put us through an awful lot of inconvenience. But we refuse to die. We're still who we are and will always be."

Indeed, after nearly a decade of enforcement efforts that included two failed rape-as-an-accessory cases against Jeffs, government officials concede that the two towns embody an aphorism: The more things change, the more they stay the same.

"Our idea was to stop the underage marriages, and I think we've done that," said Gary Engels, a Mohave County investigator who spearheaded the crackdown. "But, if anything, the community has become a lot more closed to society. The people have become a lot more paranoid.

"They all still believe the walls will come tumbling down on the jail, and Warren Jeffs is going to walk free."

"Change in a situation like this comes very slowly," added former Arizona Attorney General Terry Goddard, who helped orchestrate the enforcement campaign in Colorado City. "It hopefully happens when you re-establish the rule of law so people can make their own decisions."

In Utah, Jeffs was found guilty of rape as an accessory and sentenced to 10 years in prison for betrothing an underage girl to her adult cousin, but the conviction was overturned because of faulty jury instructions.

He faced similar counts in Arizona, but Mohave County prosecutors dismissed the case after new charges were filed in Texas, carrying more severe penalties.

So, they are paranoid for closing ranks due to religious persecution... Isn't that the same thing happening to another faith over jihad, faths and other criminal endeavors? And.to boot, under Islam, they can marry child-brides.

The question is, are the wives regretful or satisfied?

Que sigan haciendo muchachos retardados, ya que de seguro se convierten en republicanos......

"Nearly everyone in Colorado City, Arizona, and the adjacent town of
Hildale, Utah, was a member of a fundamentalist Mormon sect that
practices polygamy and had long encouraged multiple marriages between
close relatives."

A fundamentalist breakaway Mormon sect in Colorado City, AZ, is being
overtaken by a rare birth-defect brought on by inbreeding. The cult's
leader arranges all marriages between community members, who are
descended from two founding families. The cult's members view the severe
disabilities brought on by the inbreeding as a test from God, and those
who question this are excommunicated and thrown out of the community.

By the late 1990s, Tarby and his team had discovered fumarase
deficiency was occurring in the greatest concentration in the world
among the fundamentalist Mormon polygamists of northern Arizona and
southern Utah.

Of even greater concern was the fact that the recessive gene that
triggers the disease was rapidly spreading to thousands of individuals
living in the community because of decades of inbreeding...

Doctors and family members interviewed by New Times say up to 20
children from families in the polygamist community are currently
afflicted with the condition that requires full-time attention from
caregivers. Victims suffer a range of symptoms, including severe
epileptic seizures, inability to walk or even sit upright, severe speech
impediments, failure to grow at a normal rate, and tragic physical
deformities.

Seems like natural selection at its best. So what are you taking on next, 40+ year old mothers for having a high incidence of genetically deficient offspring?

:sucker:
